After finding out I was pregnant my partner and I discussed our expectations around pregnancy and the delivery of our first child. With his admitted anxiety and my lack of local familial support, I presented the option of hiring a doula. Morgan came highly recommend through a social media connection. We interviewed her ASAP and immediately felt her energy fill the gaps in our prenatal support.
Having a partner who works six days a week away from home, and family who is over 2000 miles away, made for a long and lonely pregnancy. Morgan was ALWAYS a text or phone call away - from supporting my choice to switch PAs to helping me research and understand my GDM diagnosis and everything in between. I leaned into her knowledge and support endlessly during this trying time.
Fast forward to delivery and everyone who was present can attest to the calmness that washed over my partner and I when she walked through the door to help bring our baby Earth side. She talked me through excruciating contractions and cheered me on when I was on the brink of giving up - offering pain reduction methods, breath coaching, counter pressure, etc.
Postnatally, Morgan continues to be a wealth of knowledge, a shoulder to lean on, and an advocate for positive birth experiences sans judgment! I will undoubtedly have her beside me during future pregnancies!
I decided to find a doula late in pregnancy and contacted several in the Valley. Multiple word for word recommendations down the line, Morgan’s name came up and she was able to take me on as a client right away. It was such a relief to find a doula who was available in time! Having several meetings before delivery was wonderful. I felt as though we quickly synced up expectations, aligned together as a team, and bonded over the determination to enjoy a less intervention-filled labor.
Morgan promoted evidenced-based practices to guide our decisions, encouragement to protect the sacredness of my body’s intuition, was an advocate for our medical autonomy, a wonderful resource of advice, and a pillar of emotional + physical support during our wild delivery!
Our daughter came quickly and .. chaotically! My husband stayed with her at the warmer while Morgan physically and emotionally held me during the immediate postpartum time. After she had already massaged by back through intense contractions for over an hour, she cradled me and let me squeeze the heck out of her hand while getting stitches, yikes. Tears are flowing as I write this. I don’t know what I would have done without her. I will forever be grateful for Morgan’s involvement in our birth and I attribute the success of our medication-free birth much to her support, skills, and encouragement.
With all of our birth preferences having to flip to the opposite of what we hoped for, Morgan unwaveringly supported us through each change. From knowing when to let us know that we had more options, stepping in to encourage us to ask the hospital staff questions, and making the delivery room inviting, she helped labor and delivery to be stress free. Knowing she would couch us through one of the biggest changes of our lives, coming parents, she swept any anxiousness away. Her resources, knowledge, calm and inviting demeanor, and encouragement were the ticket for supporting us through pregnancy and delivery. We highly recommend Morgan as a doula Morgan helped us achieve a positive birth and it's something we are so grateful for!
If you’re thinking of hiring a doula, I highly recommend Morgan. A doula means “a woman who serves” - Morgan embodies this completely. My husband and I had our baby girl in March of 2022. Our first. She came three weeks earlier than anticipated, and n a matter of hours our entire birth vision was flipped upside down. Having Morgan help us understand what would happen in the upcoming hours, to calm our fears, and to help us make difficult decisions that seemed overwhelming (since we didn’t anticipate on needing to make them) was such a blessing.
Through the entire birth she acted as a helpful resource, a wonderful encouragement, a friend, a comic relief (when needed), and a gentle reminder that our bodies and our babies know what to do.
And of course her services didn’t just end once baby girl came. She checked in on us in the first few days after & continues to be an incredible resource to us. She’s respectful, insightful, and an all around an asset to any birth team!
Do yourself & your partner a favor and hire Morgan as your doula.
